Well, I didn’t get selected for the SCC. Got close. There were 6 seats available, and I believe I came in 9th.
I want to thank everyone who did took the time to come out to the convention (and deal with all the emails and snail mail). Of course, I want to thank all of you who had the confidence to vote for me.
One thing I really liked in this processes, was that everyone was campaigning on the issues occurring within the SCC (and the State Executives), and kept the campaigns positive and respectful.
I was able to have very enjoyable discussions with several of the other candidates, and while we didn’t always completely see eye to eye, we were able to focus on what we held in common, and respect each others beliefs. This is exactly how civil discourse is supposed to run.
I’m thinking I may make another website, that is still politically driven, but not so narrow in scope (I’ll link to it from this website). I’m going to keep this one around for the next time I run, and will post my observations from time to time.
Thanks again for all the support.
